Kennyn27's Journal, 08 Jun 23

Had to cancel my outdoor walks yesterday and today (hate the treadmill) due to the apocalypse (kidding). But here are some pics of what it looked like around NY yesterday. I took only the last pic, the rest came from an article or two about the smoke. (The pics are from Staten Island, Brooklyn, Queens and Manhattan).

Oh wow!!! I'm so glad I don't live in New York anymore but praying that all goes well with those who are still living there.

I experienced something similar a few years back. Sure made me appreciate clean fresh air! I'll never take it for granted again. I heard you are getting it from Canada. It does look cool but I hope they get it put out soon! So scary!

What's freaking me out is that on a landmass that huge, that air just sits.... New Zealand is long but skinny. We have fresh air everywhere, mostly. Well, some places collect smog but nothing like even a blip on the smog-o-meter that America has. And you're all breathing that. How long have these fires gone on for, and how can you possibly do anything about the smoke?

These are amazing shots, also very eerie. I ❤️ny. I lived there for 30 something years and now I live in Rhode Island. I absolutely adore New York, and I miss it so very much I was driving on the way to New York the other day to see my family and I witnessed the same thing I’ve seen New York in many different shapes and forms, I seen it in the snow ,in the rain in the fog and hurricane, Sandy and 911. It’s the most amazing city out there with the most amazing adaptation skills out there of its people please stay safe. My entire family are wearing masks and let’s not forget New York during Covid. But I’ve also experienced New York at New Year’s Eve in Times Square at the Easter Parade on 5th Ave., Thanksgiving day parade with Macy’s, Fourth of July, fireworks from different sides of Manhattan, the Staten Island ferry, and everything else. I will always be a true New Yorker through and through. I love everything and everyone about it, thank you for sharing. Such beautiful photos here’s to better times ,better air quality and better days..🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️❤️
