Thank you to everyone who commented on my post about eating disorders. I truly appreciate your thoughts but removed the post so as not to offend the person mentioned in the comments, should they inadvertently view it. I do think FS can be used to lose too much weight and hope everyone stays healthy out there!

Hi fire queen thanks for your comment! Though I have plenty of issues food related and otherwise, I don’t consider myself to have a diagnosable eating disorder but was merely concerned that some may use this app to lose excessive amounts of weight. Appreciate your support though, we got this!

I get it. I used to get "accused" ( by strangers) of having an eating disorder when I was younger. ... or should I say "badgered". it's unbelievable what people will say to you. I didn't even break the 90 lb barrier until my early twenties. my daughter was the same way. some people are just naturally thin.... and believe me. there was no skimping on food either. lol. I still get looks from coworkers because I'm trying to lose only 6 or 7 lbs. I'm definitely not starving though. I also just ignore any nasty comments now. good luck!

Hi dee dee, I get it, I have been accused of being too skinny before myself and it is no fun. Sometimes people are just jealous. I wasn’t aware there was a “90 lb barrier” but my concern was triggered by someone weighing less than that. Most of us should be weighing a lot more than 90lbs depending on our age, height, and frame - everyone is different.

And agreed, dee dee, many people assume that not enough food is being eaten when a person is naturally skinny when that is not always the case. The discussion we were having was about people not eating enough to in order to get to very low weights. When I first joined this site I initially went back down to 120, the weight I had in my twenties, but got so many comments about how gross I looked being that skinny (I’m 5’6”) that I deliberately gained back some of the weight and have kept it on. Apart from very brief periods of not eating enough due to being sick or sad or something, I have never come close to starving myself at any weight. I hate to see other people doing that and I definitely have seen that on this site repeatedly over the many years u have been here.

Cindy, I saw your post yesterday & the post you were referring to. I tried to look at the pic she had posted but since her clothing was loose it was hard to see if she was too thin. I was concerned about the low weight as well. Since I have read as we age it can be good to maintain at a slightly higher weight it can be concerning when someone keeps pushing to lose down to the weight they were in younger years. It doesn't just effect your appearance but your skeletal & muscle mass as well.

Lol Cindy. The "90 lb" barrier was me trying my best to gain weight. I was stuck in the 80's for years. I finally gained weight after having my daughter . I'm trying for 113 now ( I'm around 118-120 ish) so that I can start weight training. I'm really short (4'11" ish) and if I start lifting now I'm going to be super squat and bulky. Not for me. I still get the 113 is TOO skinny.

I didn't see the post I don't think. I know that some people are trying to gain, some are trying to lose. I would think most people here would learn to balance their food intake. All bodies are different bigger bone people are going to naturally weigh more. Some people are just tiny and short which their goal may be below 100 lbs. I'm 5' 6" and never crossed 115 lbs until in my 20's and I tried to gain weight.
