We didn’t make the LA hike. My friends car had a flat tire. We must have hit a nail.. I can change a tire without any problems so I proceeded to see about where her tire changing stuff was in her car. Not a clue. I also guessed that her tires had been put on hydraulically. Bad idea. Called my AAA but by then too late to start out hiking. My dad was an auto mechanic so I can change a tire with the best of them— but I carry a tool in my car that gives me a shot at getting even the toughest lug nuts off. And, I don’t let the mechanics use hydraulics to tighten them. We did do a local hike and a good swim so still a really good day.

Lug nuts that are put on hydraulically are almost impossible to get off manually so when I get tires rotated I always remind them not to use the hydraulics
