Happy Friday!

I was riding my exercise bike this morning while watching an episode of Ballykissangle via my Kindle. The notes on the show say it is 50 minutes long - perfect, because I want to do 50 minutes of exercise...but it is really only 47 minutes long. Now, that really shouldn't be a problem...but I can be a spoiled brat...I don't WANT to ride the bike when my mind isn't occupied...so do I stop at 47 minutes or keep riding with nothing to watch for THREE.WHOLE.MINUTES...(I know, what a brat!)...I almost stopped riding and then a scripture verse popped into my head...

"For the moment all discipline seems painful rather than pleasant, but later it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it." Hebrews 12:11

I did finish the last three minutes...and I went into my kitchen and wrote that verse on my blackboard wall. I want that to sink deep into my bones...I may not LOVE all the aspects of my new lifestyle, but there is something to be said for that "peaceful fruit" that comes from being disciplined.

Make your weekend spectacular!

That is an excellent scripture to remember and holds so much truth to it! It is interesting how the principle can be applied to various things or challenges we may encounter in life. Good for you for sticking out the last three minutes. I am the kind of person who needs my mind occupied the whole time during exercise to motivate me - and motivation is NOT easy. I am just beginning my journey and hoping for success. Again, like you mentioned, I need to discipline myself and I will see the fruitage of my labor in teh long run! :) SEP
