@Mermee: I don't plan on doing any weight lifting exercises that require a spotter, and have always preferred free weights to Universals. So yeah, I might go with some dumbbells at home first before graduating to a formal gym. I have a good sized patio that I can use for a home gym.

I take Lettys zoom circuit training class and can attest what a great teacher and motivator she is! You should join us sometime. It's fun and it's productive!

@Letty & @Diana & @Acomandr: do I need weights for this class? If so, I would probably just buy them for a home gym instead of joining a gym. @Mermee: Amazon sells kettleballs, yes? Unless you're a taxi/UBER kind of girl. @Bear: there is still plenty of time for your 130's moment! Get it, Grrl! @60pack: OneTwentyLand is real, and all the clothes look stunning on -- even the potato sacks 😁

JB, short answer is yes, for toning. Letty recommends 1-2 lb weights but u don't hv to buy them...u can use whatever u hv around the house (bottled water, canned goods, etc.)😁

My daughter did several circuit training classes with me. My husband says my classes are way too hard 🙄😂. For Zumba Toning we use very light weights. I have had people use things they have around the house. In circuit training we use heavier weights. I think most of us had dumbbells at home. I have an interchangeable set that I bought several months after I joined the gym to use on the days the gym was closed. Like holidays. I workout Monday through Friday no matter if it's a holiday or not so I wanted a set at home to use.

Good job! And once you do start adding weights to your routine, the scale becomes less important and physical appearance/muscle shape/growth (the good kind) become more of your focus! It gets fun and exciting as the caloric flexibility goes up without much weight gain! It's a door that opens to a whole new world!

But weights are price gouged right now. Keep an eye on craigslist since pandemic lock-downers are gonna have a fire sale soon now that the gyms are open again and all their kettlebells are becoming huge paperweights 💪

How wonderful JustBananas!!!👏👏👏👍🌸🌺🌼💪
I’m going to do some serious hiking this weekend, if I can just get down to 175 I’d be so so happy! Aiming for the 60s though.
Pretty sure that is way off in the future.🙃
I’m for the weights at home, for if you don’t feel like going to the gym you can still work out at home.
The one and only thing is if you like classes it’s kind of nice to take a class at a gym, but then there are online classes you can do too.
Have a Wonderful Wednesday!🌺
