Thanks everyone! My rewards are always ZERO calories and last much longer than any meal, and never sabotage my diet. @Wifey: It's not all punishments & haircuts -- I go big with rewards, too 😁. Perfume came from Sephora (only a 1 mile walk from home!). I have a total of 52 bottles of perfumes that are 30 ml/1 oz or larger, and about 30 rollerball/travel sized (9 ml/.03 oz). 

@Mermee: I wear about 3 different perfumes per day, changing them with my mood and whenever they wear off. They just bring me sensory joy, from the moment I wake up to the scent I wear to bed (for great dreams!). 

I am only 25% French, but I try to adopt quite a few of their lifestyle habits, everything from their food to scents to attitude. As much as an American can, anyway. 😉  

OMG perfume is amazing! I love perfume. 

@Mermee: no idea - my mom was always more forthcoming about her Slovenia half. I know most about the 50% English that I get from my dad. French people walk everywhere and often, and I do the same, including all my trips to the market. I got hooked on French cuisine when I purchased the 2-volume Julia Child set when I was in my 20's. Everything is better when cooked with wine! 😋 

@NewName: any excuse to buy perfume! Actually my next goal is to reach my "Ideal Body Weight" according to my doctor & the insurance charts, which is 125. And the prize I'm eyeing is a pretty pair of earrings. 

Mermee, I would feel just as comfy in NYC. I miss it! I grew up in Washington, and took countless business trips on the train to New York and for fun weekends. Broadway will open back up in September!🎬🎵

I think you are very clever in planning and writing down rewards you'll get for achieving your goals. Weight loss and control is such a powerful mind game. The promise of a reward is just more leverage to help you not succumb to the inevitable temptations along the way. Lovely orchids. 

@WaNo: On the East Coast, D.C. is referred to as Washington. It's only on the West Coast that it means the state. I live in SoCal now, but for me my mind always goes to our capital first. @Gastropod: If I didn't have structure and goal posts in my weight loss plan, I'd be all over the place. It's accountability for me, and I punish as well as reward myself (even more incentive to not fuck up 😄).
