DairyKing's Journal, 08 Apr 14

Good Evening, FS Warriors! Just thought I'd drop in and see what was shaking. Well, maybe that's not necessarily a good choice of words on this site. Oh well, you've got to have a sense of humor on here or, in addition to stretch marks, you'll get frown lines; we can't have that now, can we?

Well, I got on my bicycle and pedaled a$$ all over town tonight. Put a lot more into it than I had originally planned. I hope I didn't sabotage my 30 minute run in the morning. I'll just have to wait and see what plays out. Either way, I'll have to get up and give it a shot. I think I'm overreacting to my going back for seconds at dinner time. So, here I am struggling with the dilemma: eat more and work out more, or eat less and work out less, or here's a novel idea: eat less and work out more, or eat a lot less and work out a whole lot more. There I run into that slippery slope that just might not be sustainable. I think a lot of us fall into that trap of thinking that if a little bit had good results, then a whole lot will have better results, and that may be true for a while. The problem is that it usually is not sustainable, leads to burnout, and does nothing to effect a lifestyle change, which defeats the whole purpose. We've therefore come full circle to this concept of moderation. So, don't be afraid to come out of your comfort zone, but don't hurt yourself. Take it easy, be patient, it will happen. It's still all about taking fuel in, and expending energy. You may have a different way of explaining how the physics are happening, but you can't argue with the laws of physics: Energy in: Energy out. Speaking of which, I'm out of here. Toodles!

Love your journal today.... But a lot of truth in it, it's all about getting the right balance. Watch it DK, if you are 'shaking it out' while on that balance beam lol

Everything in moderation even the moderation. It's a tough balance between burning bright and burning out. Thanks for the follow up on your previous journal. I feel so lost right now with all of that 'stuff' I haven't had to think about for 25 years. But the slippery slope, yep, I know that slide well. I grew up with the living examples from my Mom of 'little bit vs whole lot' and she always went for the latter to the detriment of her health and well being.
