Period pains are ruining me today, and I crave sweets and a super savoury meal so I’ve decided to be good for lunch and have a leftover fajita with a scrambled egg and an apple later and will have some pie, mash and peas for dinner. Any tips for pains?

I found an anti inflammatory helped better with severe cramps. And also keeping my lower abdomen helped bring relief & comfort too. Hope you feel better soon xx

I’ve always sworn by Ginger Tea ☕️

I found that drinking alcohol before and on period makes pain a lot worse. Apparently it makes you dehydrated and the pain gets worse. 🌷

Thanks for your tips everyone🙏, I’ll try some yoga, haven’t done that I a while, and will put a hot water bottle on my tummy. I’m the kind of person who wants to avoid pain killers as much as possible so I’ll try everything else first ☺️ This is such a great community, cheers ladies

Me too, I really suffer with them but find a hot water bottle helps my stomach but then I have to take strong painkillers as I get the pains going into my back and legs. I really feel for you xx

Can get Feminax tablets from Boots or other pharmacies. Works well for period pains. Think it's mainly Ibuprofin.

Just had a look online. Also contains 500 mg paracetamol and codeine phosphate. Always took my period pains away completely, and I used to get very bad stomach cramps when I was younger.

Can see you don't normally use pain killers, but I'd strongly advise trying the Feminax. They are formulated for period pains and worked really well for me.

I know it doesn't help in the moment but I had the most extreme (I mean it felt like labour pains) period pains and the Mirena coil helped me regulate + took a great degree of the pain away. for back pain try an icy cold flannel on your back + hot water bottle for tummy ache

Thanks Laura, I’ll have a think about the coil. And I did need to take some Ibuprofen tonight, as it just got too bad. Will have a look around boots for feminax, thank you Judy ☺️ Thanks everyone for sharing
