John10251's Journal, 07 Apr 21

Yesterday I was having some repairs done to my car. I'm always bored in the waiting room and since it was such a beautiful day, I decided to walk. I didn't do as much running as usual because I didn't want to walk back into the dealership all sweaty and stinky, but I maintain a good pace. Nearby, about 3/4 of a mile is a huge office park. It has about ten 6-story office buildings, three large ponds and walking trails connecting the buildings. Some parts of the trails were beautifully landscaped and some areas were wooded. One thing I like about my walk/runs is that I can do them anywhere and anytime. No special equipment is needed. I can be out driving with a little extra time and get out of the car and get busy. Although, I thought yesterday's walk was special and enjoyable, it just happened...
Yesterday I ate under goal, met my protein goal and all activity goals. 1444kcal deficit // BF unchanged // BW↓0.2#

Beautiful place to walk John! Have a Terrific Thursday! I am the opposite! I never get credit for all the steps I take - why because I don’t take my phone with me when I’m walking half the time!🙁🙃

It really does take mindfulness to keep active doesn’t it? This is lovely scenery! Thanks for sharing, John!

@60, The devices do seem to be getting better but still have a ways to go. I had a device with a chest strap years ago, and it was a pain and didn't give near as much info as my current device. I only used it when running and didn't have a clue as to what was happening the rest of the day or days I didn't run...

@Shrewdness, I have an app on my phone that I use for tracking walk/runs also. I like it because it maps out my route that day. I do compare it with my wrist tracking device, and they give similar results for the same distance tracked. It was a wonderful place to walk. Have a great day!!!

@LISfifty, I agree. I do think it does take some degree of mindfulness for everyone but especially for us seniors to stay active. I can deal with most of the consequences of aging. I have even accepted that one day we all must leave this earth. We don't have much of a choice. My biggest fear is not being able to be active. That's what motivates me to try to eat well and keep moving...
