John10251's Journal, 02 Dec 20

I realize that my Total Gym is not the type of equipment that body builders use but it has helped me reach my calories burned goal so many times during this pandemic. Activity does count. Yesterday I ate well at 100% of goal, slightly exceeded my protein goal and met all activity goals. BF↓0.2% // BW↓1.4#

Jellerholz, I know you're not asking me but I like to hear from multiple people so hopefully no one minds me weighing in. I wear a fitbit and it allows me to start and stop workouts and it tells me how many cals burned. It has different workout options such as walk, treadmill, weights, bike etc. I have used this FS app and put in how much time I spent but it always says I burn more than Fitbit. I go by Fitbit since my tracker monitors my heartrate and I feel it's more accurate. So when I log in FS it looks like my workout time is far less since I log by cals burned instead of time. If I didn't have Fitbit I'd probably just go by FS. But the discrepancy is significant. So, I'd also like to know what others do. Some equipment calcs cal expenditure like treadmills. I suppose you could look online for how many cals certain activities burn. If I wanted to track my weight workouts I'd use the stopwatch on my phone or an app. Lately I've been using the Strong app to track my weight lifting time but it doesn't show cals burned.

Oh, sorry I missed your question Jellerholz. I also wear a fitbit. I don't adjust it for different activities. I just use the total for the day.
