xynab's Journal, 23 Nov 13

Today was my off day. I still avoided binging as much as I could. I filled up less food in my lunch plate, but unfortunately I stuffed on deserts! :( I still left 2 items on my plate, cos I simply couldnt stomach any more....and what really sucks is that I didnt like any of the deserts that I had. I'll let that be a lesson to me in future.

If I ever go to a banquet, I am not going to try deserts. At all.

I wish I had had pasta/kunafa today instead. Anyhow, kadr Allahu wa ma sha'a fa'al (whatever Allah wills happened). I'll look forward to that for my next cheat day. Today I need to decide a very strict diet in order to bring down those 3kgs that are just clinging to me.

The 7 day diet? I have a lot of fruits stacked up. Maybe I'll go that way-

Everyone has a day like that.. (Sorry for just suddenly popping up and commenting) I sometimes binge on dried fruits or chocolates and stuff like that, and feel awful afterwards :( If you have time in your daily life, maybe try baking homemade low cal & sugar desserts. That way you can feel safe on what you're eating I guess? Eating fruits are very good. Also, I think it's cleaver to give yourself a cheat day! I never thought of that before..

I try to give myself a cheat day after ever week, or ten days It was a pleasant surprise that you commented :) Unfortunately I dont find time to cook a lot :( But that is a good idea. I think going for a palaeo style diet is the best for long term weight loss dont you think? After eating chocolates and cake and other things today, I just....didnt feel...satisfied. And there was a lot of guilt. I wish I could have just vomited it out. Totally not worth it. I'm going to think 10 times before I eat things like that again. What diet are you on? I need to lose a lot of weight for my wedding, still have 13kgs to go- how about you?

I totally understand how you feel guilty about eating. I tried (sorry for being disgusting) self vomiting after eating for a couple of times but never worked. I might have an eating disorder because I'm obsessed with counting calories and stuff. You shouldn't follow my diet, it's not healthy :P I'm not on any specific diet, but I count every calorie that I'm taking and how much I exercise. Feel free to check my page :) I still have about 4 kgs to go. And try not to think too much about eating, because you might end up obsessed with what you eat and never enjoy food like you did again. Can I add you to my buddy by the way?

ADD away! When I was reading your post, I totally felt like I was seeing a relection of myself in the mirror. Although I've never tried to vomit, I am using this herbal tea that has laxative effects...anyhow, I'm trying to wean myself off that but I'm pretty desperate to lose weight myself :( Over the past month since I've joined calorie counter and been on a diet, I've been very obsessed about calories too- I try to keep them at 300 cals per day :s pretty pathetic I know, and I try my best never to hit above 500 cals when i'm dieting, and on cheat days I'm too scared to log all my calories, but I'm trying to do that :/ yesterday it was at least 1500 cals...which is a crazy amount of cals for someone that doesnt consume over 300cals normally What sucks worse, is that I know all the facts and I'm trying to counter this horrible way of living by using multivitamins and being as natural as possible. I try to eat fruits and vegetables and meats, and thankful I have no suffered hair fall or other side effects, but- seriously, between you and me, I think its far better to be a little conscious about these things rather than just ignore it and be gorge on food and become fatter and fatter I feel so much better after I've lost weight! I have SO MUCH of confidence, and I still have 13kgs to go- I wonder what I'll look like then? I havent been that weight for 5 years! You're so lucky you only have 4kgs to go, make sure you maintain the weight after that- and tell me what you plan to do to maintain it

Yay we are buddies now :D I feel the same here, because you're doing the exactly same of what I'm trying to do. The only difference is, that I'm living in a home stay so I can't cut down my breakfast or dinner so much. Otherwise they'll get suspicious, you know? Even worse, I'll be living with my mom in about 2 months so she might notice that my eating habits are kind of crazy. I set my DRI to 750 (Fatsecret calculated out that I needed 1600 daily, so I'm going less than half). But I usually fail and you can see red numbers on my calendar everywhere :( I really really wish that I could live alone so every meal will be controlled by myself like you do, and don't have to worry about someone making myself eat! It's amazing that you don't get side effects. I'm getting slow heart rate (46~54 per minutes) when I'm resting. I used to have above 75~80 so I don't think it's normal. My skin is a little dry too. But no other significant effects yet, probably because I only started this a month ago. It's weird, you know? My BMI is around 18.7, but I think I'm not slim enough. My thighs have dangling fat when I lift them, and my stomach sticks out when I'm standing and sitting. 4 kgs less.. I don't know how I'm gonna look like, but I'm definitely going to maintain my body weight at my goal weight!

Oh, forgot to mention! If you want to keep up with the calories, set your DRI to whatever number you want, like 800 or something. If you do that you'll know if you've over eaten or not.

Thanks for the good advice! I dont live alone, I'm currently living with my family :) Your heart rate is okay...as long as you dont have light headedness associated with it. In my clinical practice we come across a lot of people that have this range. Heart rate varies with activity, fitness, co-morbidity. If you're symptom-free then dont worry at all :) Maybe a multivitamin suppliment everyday wouldnt be so bad? Your BMI is excellent. 18.5 is the lowest limit of normal, dont tip there- and the abdominal flab- it needs exercise. Trust me. It never goes entirely with weight loss. I'm just waiting to lose 3 more kgs then I'll be within my normal BMI, and I'll start doing some targeted activity for my mid-section <3 best of luck and keep me updated
