jaime30024's Journal, 22 May 13

Yesterday was the last day of my daughter's teenage years and I hope she remembered what I have told her every year on the day before a birthday..."this is the last day that you will be xx years old so make it the best day possible and end it on a good note". I miss her and am counting down the days for her PIR from boot camp. Today she is no longer a teenager but is a 20 year old woman and I know she will be 'different' this time when I see her. She is going through changes, they are rounding her and moulding her and I cannot wait to see her. I knew from the moment that I held her in my arms and looked into that precious face that she would do great things with her life. She has made me a little crazy at times (and probably still will) but just as I thought she will (and is) doing great things with her life. I am so proud of her and excited to watch as her future unfolds and she continues to grow into an amazing woman. This time last year I had no idea that she would be serving in the United States Navy, but I am full of pride. 15 days and a wake up until I can hug my baby.

Would expect you to feel anything else as you've spent your life shaping this beautiful girl into the serving young woman she's now become. You have every right to be so proud of her. Has the time gone quicker than you had thought or is it dragging on and on?

Sunkeeper, it feels like a combination...lol. Now that I am this close it feels like it is dragging and I know that she has the final PFA that she still needs to pass and she was 9 sit ups shy of passing it this time. So I want her to have the time she needs but I want it to hurry up too.
