Does anyone know roughly how badly a cheat day will affect my weigh in if I'm only 1 week into my new diet? I started low carb on Saturday but Friday is Valentine's Day and I can't avoid carbs no matter how hard I try. I won't pretend that I can limit my intake either; party food is the order of the day for us. Sausage rolls, Indian and Chinese snack platters, sandwiches, Pringles, popcorn, cakes.... I'm screwed aren't I?

Frankie I know nothing about anything so no point in asking me! As for cheating it is what I've doing all my life. Valentine's Day go out and have a good night with your husband, I won't comment on the last four words!

Pahahahahahahahahaha. I usually don't track my exercise here because it overestimates how much I burn. In that case, I think it's safe to say it would be underestimated 😉😂

The odd treat will not do you any harm... its the long term averages that matters about being good. Have a good time.

If you want to have a low carb diet then one cheat day a month is maximum that you can afford , party food is not bad if you woukd just take a chunk that will fit you diet like sausage , regardless what you read on internet our bodies do not crave for Carbs its or taste buds and you can satisfy them by eating food that is low carb but woukd tase kind of like bread shredded or blend boiled broccoli or cauliflower and leave it to drain out and keep it handy use you instead of carbs bake it for few minutes and add ur favorite spice and eat it with any party food you will order at home 1kg of these would only have 50 grams of Carbs these small twix will make your diet easy and also will keep you satisfied

Personally I don’t think it will make that much difference, you’ll not lose anything you will probably just maintain your weight for a few days but you’ll not lose anything either, when you first weight yourself it’ll probably look like you put on something like 4Ib but take no notice it’s not a real weight I could go into water retention salt intake etc.. but I’m not going to bore you with it so enjoy ya valentines night just get back on it the day after don’t weight yourself until the following time then post your weight And then we’ll see I think you’ll be surprised 😉

Frankie - just say to yourself 'its a cheat day' or 'a treat day' whichever sounds better to YOU and accept there will be days when you can't stick to a diet. I have days like that - like taking a colleague out for a pub meal of garlic mushrooms, burger, chips and onion rings (but avoided the burger bun and a pud) it didn't ruin everything, just slowed me a bit. Same with the Chinese takeaway I had at Chinese New Year - I just tried to reduce the quantity rather than deny the whole thing. At the end of the day - it is YOUR diet and shouldn't be governed by anyone else's rules and criticism.

chestnut - you SOOOOO wanted to make those comments didn't you? As for you being full of sugar and spice - I can think of something else you may be full of - but too police to put that in a post...… bitch bitch !

and now I venture into the realms of 'chestnut's world' - of course you could always indulge in lots of extra 'exercise' on Valentine's Night to make up for it all...…. *Innocent look*

😂😂😂 Thanks everyone. Just need to decide what exactly I'll be eating lol, but will definitely be enjoying it whatever it is. (And yes, bedroom double entendre is intended 😇)

Who mentioned a bedroom? *innocent look - AGAIN* I get extra exercise by walking the dog for another hour.... Oh dear that could be another double entendre !!
