Can't believe I've put on 4 pounds from the previous when I had lost 4 pounds!

I have been watching my food/calorie intact like a hawk this week, as well as increasing my physical activity. And yet I have put 4 pounds back on - back to where I was 2 weeks ago in fact!

Either the scales are fuzzy or there was some statistical aberration when I weighed myself last Sunday to find I had lost 4 pounds.

Discouraging of course, and very odd. But I will have to double my efforts and see if things get better (or worse) at next week's weigh-in
93.4 kg Lost so far: 17.7 kg.    Still to go: 21.8 kg.    Diet followed: 100%.

If you've increased physical activity it could also potentially be an increase muscle mass and not 'fat' per se! Scales aren't always the best way to judge, take photos for comparison and measurements too 😁

Good advice, and also make sure you are drinking enough water as that can make a huge difference too.

Agree about muscle. For three weeks I put on 1kg but lost cm from hips and waist. Then hopped on scales and the weight drop. Its just your body doing its thing. Keep going!!

I go up and down, depeniding on what I'm trianing for at the time. I do triathon and o0ff season weights.... I swear by measuring my body. There I know that I'm doing ok and that my weight can fluctuate but as long as my measurements are going down I'm ok wiith it :)

I go by my trousers waist if it’s tight I know I have put on weight. You have done so well that I would not worry too much. Because it can vary so much from day to day. Do you weigh always at the same time of day?

Could be that you’ve been drinking or eating before weighing yourself- remember if you drink 1 litre of water, you gain 1 kg until it leaves your body :)

If your putting weight on in a week your either eating more than your burning or your holding onto water?? You say ur watching wot u eat but you need to know exact calories going in over the calories your burning?? If your holding onto water maybe your sensitive to carbs and a lower carb diet high good fat diet may suit you??? Either way keep up your good work !!

Movement of bowels is also a factor on weight.

firstly, how are you training? a number doesn't represent much when you dont know if its fat gain or muscle gain. what you should be looking at is the measurements.

Its impossible to put muscle mass on in a week its impossible its a continuous progression unless ur a complete beginner or using not legal substances takes months even years to build muscle???? Holding more water is usually the case with sudden weight increases unless over eaten on a various day????
