Want to fast and not feel hungry on day two?

Simple, just plan an 11 day fast. My past three fasts were 5 day fasts. Really 4 1/2 because I started on Monday and broke the fast Friday night. So by day 2-3 I would 'think' about food and be 'ready to stop the fast'.

Well, sitting here now, knowing I have 8 days ahead of me, today is just another day.

It's like with push-ups. Tell yourself you are going to do 10 and you start to feel tired at 6 or 7. Tell yourself you will only do 5 and you start to feel tired at 3.

Whenever I fast there is no actual hunger. I just have mental feelings where I 'want to eat'.

** Update ** Even though it was getting dark when I got home from work, I needed to work out and went for a 5 mile run. I now feel great. My blood sugar went from 89 before the run to 70 after the run.

@fred4win - Exactly! Only people who have done a 4+ day fast can understand what it feels like. Every time I stop I can't wait to go back. It is like the high you get from a really good work out but it last all day.

Wow! I'm envious of your blood sugars! Mine are on the way down after 5 days of Keto, but I'm not even down to 100 yet!

@Texasgranny6 - Yes, I need to be thankful for my blessings :) After my 5 mile run I was down to 70. I then went to bed. I just woke up this morning and it was 84. I consumed nothing but water so I assume this is gluconeogenesis at work (https://bit.ly/2H2WBLA).

@Diablo360x - I have a 28.3 BMI, don't worry, I'll be fine :) I will say this, it is an amazing feeling to wake up after fasting day 3+, drink a glass of water, then do a full weight work out :)

Is the fast completely without food? Water? Nutrition shakes? Thanks for your answer

@nymelody - This one is just water and home made bone broth. I have done others in the past where I had 600 calories a day in various liquids.

You're truly inspirational, Adef, I like how you throw the snow-flake, "must-eat-food-every few hours" mentality out the window. Livin' it, maaan. Most people could use a week-long fast to show them that "starvation mode" isn't a real physical condition, it's the snow-flake feeling that, "ahhh needs tuh eat!!11". Nope, no, fasting is one of the most powerful tools anyone can add to their regimen.

@Phil - No one will believe you don't need to eat until you complete a 4-5 day fast :)
