Want to fast and not feel hungry on day two?

Simple, just plan an 11 day fast. My past three fasts were 5 day fasts. Really 4 1/2 because I started on Monday and broke the fast Friday night. So by day 2-3 I would 'think' about food and be 'ready to stop the fast'.

Well, sitting here now, knowing I have 8 days ahead of me, today is just another day.

It's like with push-ups. Tell yourself you are going to do 10 and you start to feel tired at 6 or 7. Tell yourself you will only do 5 and you start to feel tired at 3.

Whenever I fast there is no actual hunger. I just have mental feelings where I 'want to eat'.

** Update ** Even though it was getting dark when I got home from work, I needed to work out and went for a 5 mile run. I now feel great. My blood sugar went from 89 before the run to 70 after the run.

If starving yourself is bad for your metabolism, I don't really understand why fasting is good for a diet. They always say you can't starve yourself because your body will hold onto all of it's resources because it knows its starving... I fasted for 24 hours and didn't drop one pound. I actually plateaued for like 4 days...

@kaylinrenee - Thanks! Normally that is the case for me too, however, this time I have not exercised much and I think I have a ton of glucose still in my system....

@tiffany1908 - In the past Day 3+ is about 2 pounds a day. I have never gone 11 days water only so I don't know what this one will be. I did do a 600 calorie a day no solid food fast a month ago where I lost about 8 pounds.

@srossca - I am fasting because this is the only thing that seems to work for me. You can see from my chart on this site that I have been on Fat Secret for 8 years! Look at my progress since I started fasting in May :)

are you not afraid of lean body mass loss? I don't think this would be a bad idea for someone that was morbidly obese but last I saw we weigh about the same.

No words spoken more true...today I am breaking my 5 day fast and nx wk will do another 5 day fast. It makes me feel so good after the second day and all that happiness is gone when my belly gets full after day fasting..Except for the great weight loss.

My mistake, you're actually 13 lbs lighter than me. Of course it will be slow going from this point, you're pretty light already. Keep up the good work!
