The bump up in weight is undoubtedly inflammation. It boggles the mind how much mucus can be produced by a body. I've gone through 2 boxes of tissues since Saturday. The cold is slowly progressing to its end, though, and I'm feeling a little better every day. Fortunately, I don't have to go back to work until Friday, so I can sleep and heal for a few more days. This is the first cold I've had in a very long time...probably 6 years or more. I speculated yesterday that it might be that my normally robust immune system might have been compromised by the MCT oil-induced gut cleanout I had last week. After some research, I discovered that, in fact, it is most likely the case. About 80% of your body's immune system is generated by the beneficial bacteria in the gut. When those guys are flushed out, it leaves the body susceptible to any wandering germs that are around. I took a good dose of probiotics yesterday, along with vitamins and good fiber, so I'm hoping that the gut is getting happier.
Yesterday, after going to bed at 9, I woke up at 2:30 AM. Ugh! I got up and played computer games until 6, then went back to bed and slept until 10. Best sleep in days! I wasn't hungry all day, but got a little peckish around 6, so I grilled a couple of chicken drumsticks and made my new favorite salad....wilted romaine with bacon and apple cider vinegar dressing. I've only ever done that dressing on spinach, but it's really good on romaine, as well!
The plan for today is more sleep, and if I feel up to it, trying a new recipe for low-carb yeast bread. I found a recipe on YouTube that appears to produce a light, fluffy loaf that has 1 carb per slice. If it works, I'll post the link.

I Hear you Msk, I could not sleep last night woke up at 2 am and played Wheel of Fortune for an 1.5, alarm went off at 6AM, got up at 6:40AM, met it to work right at 7:58AM!! Have a super Day!!!! :)

Don't, I'm waiting for it to hit me and hoping I've got away with it. Hope you feel better soon and enjoy the massive dip in weight when you're 'dry'.
