ARB0001's Journal, 30 Dec 16

I think the only time I felt a bit bad about what I'd eaten after I ate it was when I made a late night decision to have a second slice of the yule log... it went like this...
(late night)
ARB0001 wanders into kitchen and eats a few mini roast potatoes (yum -250)
wanders about kitchen, opens fridge, eats a mini pork pie (yum - 250)
starts eyeing the yule log...
thinks...you are not eating that! you already had a slice earlier today! you have already just scoffed 500 cals you do not NEED that!
thinks.. I know, go and read the box and see how many cals you had earlier on that yule log, that will put you off.
(goes to packet)... yay it was a serves 8 cake and I cut 8 slices (good portioning instincts award to ARB0001) wow its only 250 cals on a slice...
eats a slice of cake (yum -250)
feels guilty and bad afterwards.

but apart from that one time I haven't felt guilty about any of the other treats I enjoyed this Christmas, I'm looking forward to the new year too, bring it on, I feel ready.

It's not worth feeling guilty about it - it's done now and you know you shouldn't have plus, on the definite bright side, that's one less slice tempting you 😂😂😂

yes but I knew that none of the food I was eating then was suitable or necessary for the time of night, a warm drink would have been most appropriate - but the first two items were guilt free seasonal excesses, the last was one item too far both in calorie total and because I had already had that treat that same day, but in a way it can help to get that 'shouldn't have eaten that - hasn't left me happy' feeling.

Yes true that it isn't there to tempt me now! It isn't actually too surprising that this happened on the day when I was eating junk anyway, as I know how to handle the eating messages I get when I've got only healthy food in me, but once sugar and grease is inside me I'm a whole different monster with much stronger urges, lol

At least you haven't put any weight on, ARB! You should be proud of that 😇

Wow you didn't put any weight on, I am so jealous ARB 😐

Well there has been a tiny bit of fluctuation in my unrecorded zone, just before Christmas the true scale was 167 but I lag behind 1lb on purpose, that lag area is a bit tighter at the moment the true scale is 167.7, I wouldn't be increasing my online weight until I would hit 169.something then I'd be lagging 1lb behind an upswing etc.

Made me laugh! Yep, been there, done that, and it's no use saying never again, because it will happen again, won't it? Just not too often 😎 Remember, no gain, no pain 😀 It looks like you've done pretty well the rest of the time 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 (borrowing Mrs M's stars while she's away!)

I'm also doing something similar to you on recording weight on here. Funnily enough, having already decided what I was going to log today, I got on the scales and that was exactly what they said!

I didn't even buy a Yule log this year! Last year, I ate the whole thing myself (not in one go BTW!)

We believe you Bunty 😁

There's a huge list of things I didn't buy this year for similar reasons, luckily I had the chance to exclude them because my girls find Christmas cake and pudding way too sweet so it would have only been me to eat most of it - they have no such reluctance to eat chocolate cake.
