Back in the 70's (when I was much thinner and hairier), I played bass guitar in a band. Well recently, despite still playing guitar, I haven't touched the bass. Today I decided to change all that.
The first album I ever bought was "The Shadows", back in 1961. There was a track on the album called "Nivram", and it was the bass on that track that inspired me to take up the instrument. I have always promised myself I would learn it, and never have, but this morning I decided to change all that. I got a copy of the sheet music and I have now made a start.
