Windlepoones's Journal, 04 Oct 16

I have received great news to-day and proof to me that the LCHF diet really works. I received the results of my Wednesday Hba1c blood test. My average blood glucose reading has fallen by 12 mmols and after three months of this diet and exercise regime I am no longer in the diabetic range.

I watched a program on BBC1 last night called, “DIABETES THE HIDDEN KILLER”. It can only be regarded as a shocking program and in parts is hard to watch. If anyone needs a kick in the pants about the damage diabetes can do this is a must see. I strongly recommend it, to anyone in danger of diabetes as a wakeup call.

What I don’t understand is why most Western governments are still recommending the 70 year old Framinton dietary recommendations and the World Health Organisation’s, (WHO) food pyramid. Both are based on out of date and financially corrupted evidence. I believe it is the main cause of the western world’s obesity epidemic.

I believe the big pharmaceutical companies are the main protagonists, of the current glut of insane carbohydrate based diets, because of the dependency they cause and huge sums of money generated by prescription drugs.

The NHS is under an unsustainable strain from the list of non-communicable diseases of; diabetes, cancer, heart disease and dementia. All have their roots back to the recommended World Health Organisation’s promoted diets.

I can’t believe that most Western governments are unaware of the main causation of these diseases and can only conclude that it's a deliberate ploy to limit their population’s life expectancy.

Currently the only government that has dumped the old WHO recommendations is Sweden. They now promote only, “Real Food Diets”.

Congratulations on your excellent results - and I am as puzzled as you as to why the medical profession is so slow to give people the updated advice on the latest research. I missed that programme on diabetes last night but will watch it on iPlayer. Thanks for the link too on Diet Doctor.

There is a companion piece on the iPlayer called Fat v Carbs with Jamie Owen. I watched both. No wonder we are all fat and confused.

Great news. I have been a strong advocate for avoiding Carbs since reading Gary Taubes book, "Diet Delusion". The "Corn Syrup" lobby has a lot to answer for.
