Suama's Journal, 21 May 16

Second journal of the day. About a month on since I started this diet, my graph finally started to show a downward trend! Yay! So far only just over a kilo is what I have lost, but if I carry on this regime, I will one day reach 54 kilos! Surely it will be a long way to go but even if you want to travel 1000 miles, you need to progress little by little. Little by little and bit by bit.

At this pace, it will take a year to reach my target weight. But!! I will try and will have my life with 'new me' in the coming year onwards. There are a lot of clothing I cannot wear now as I grew so big.

I want to look younger a bit and stay attractive to my husband who is 2 years younger than me. :)

Thank you everyone who has supported me and gave me some advice and comments. You are very important diet buddy! In order to achieve a big goal, we all need buddies, don't we?

I think my half sister in law is getting married next year. It will be a good occasion to wear my favourite classy dress which is just hanging in my closet for ages.

That sounds like a great long term goal. Plenty of time to get there and a celebration at the end of it where you can wear a favourite dress. You just need to set yourself some mini-goals along the way so you don't get despondent at the distant target. Even an expert chocolate eater can't eat a kilo bar in one bite - it has to be done a little bit at a time 😀

Thank you Phooka for your positive advice! Yeah I would be realistic enough to set a small target every month. Maybe a kilo a month? I think more than that is unrealistic with my diet. So it'll be a sluggish progress but the graph should show a downward trend!! I'll do it and wear the dress!

A kilo a month would be ideal. Nice and slow. That way you won't be starving yourself and will be more likely to stay the course. You sound as if you're a petite person too so percentage of body weight-wise, it could even be ambitious. You can do it though - have faith in yourself!

I'm 5ft4" so medium build in this country. (In Japan I was quite tall though). I'm on a verge of being officially overweight so I've decided to go on a diet. My BMI is 25!! It needs to be 20, which is my ambition. Hopefully my strategy will work as long as I don't give up. Thank you Phooka for your kind support as usual! Much appreciated.
