Just to show that Lily doesn't always look cute. Here is her scarier side.

Back into routine and went for my morning walk. I am getting back on the wagon today. My meals are planned and I intend returning to a 16:8 routine. That means breakfast sometime between 9 and 10.
Yesterday was a total disaster, and the more Carbs I ate, the hungrier I felt. Even drinking loads of water didn't help.
Let us see what this week brings. I'd love to finish sub 14 stone.

Interesting, I couldn't agree more about eating carbs and being hungry. I also find it makes me very sleepy and I'm not one for nodding off in the afternoon - horrors. Love this pic of Lily being scary, not quite making it though. B

Yep, 1st August is my "back on the wagon" day too. I managed to make myself a great chopped salad for lunch which I'm having with left over roast beef and a mustard dressing. I managed to resist the temptation to bung it all in a wrap LOL. I can't decide what to have as accompaniments with the lamb steak tonight, though. Probably some spiced courgette chips and roast cauliflower. Then again, maybe not ...

Slipped a bit as Madge didn't eat all her cheesy toast so I finished it. I then had a bit of chocolate. 10 squares to be precise. I visited my son the other day and he gave me a belated birthday present of two large bars of Cadbury's Dairy Milk (2 x 200g). One Fruit & Nut and one with Crunchie Bits. The sooner the bars are eaten the better!

Hope you have a better week this week. I think walking is the best exercise there is.

She's cuuuuuute, even on a bad hair day :) Jocko, the carbs activate the pleasure center of your brain just like an addictive drug, when the first rush of sugar/glucose passes your brain tells your body it needs more which makes the body secrete the hormones that signal hunger. Check the timing, if you eat something high in carbs and 30 minutes to an hour later you are hungry again, you are not really hungry. You are simply in glucose withdrawl, if you give it another fix it will happen again and again. The only way to make it go away is to stop feeling the addiction and allow the jonesing to pass....which it will do in a couple of days.

Yes. Fat and Protein keeps me feeling satiated and happy. They also stop me from feeling tired.

Jocko !!! Lily is adorable!!!! I am just catching up with everyone. Belated happy birthday to you, too! :o) Carbs make me tired, too. The more you eat ... the more out of control you feel. I love meat and fish .... some dairy ... some veggies. Oh ... potatoes ..... ha ... dang ol' taters get me every time.

She's still very cute! I like carbs, but try to only eat small portions, preferably with some protein and/or fibre. Carbs make you want to eat more carbs an hour later.

Ahh, she's so cute it's killing me! It's how cheating a little with carbs, leads to more.. No matter how much water we try to flush it with. Start over, New month is motivation!
