Paleo Judy's Journal, 10 Jan 17

Have used Healthy Eating portion plate a lot in the past, but wanted to see how it worked out if I used it for lunch and dinner on FatSecret. Lunch worked out at 361 kcals and dinner 249 kcals. The overall total for the day is 1188 and there is quite a bit of room left after the meals for snacks. I'm full at 1188 calories, so it seems to be good for weight loss. You would probably need to load the plate up a bit more or eat more snacks for maintenance. Got my plate in the melamine version on Amazon and it seems to have a lot of good reviews.

If it works for you then great! I couldn't use it as I love my Royal Doulton too much. Did you reset your target?

Hi - It looks as if the Healthy Eating Portion Plate meals are going to work out at around 300 calories, so the portion plate might be a good thing to use if you are short of time, or when you are away from home. Another way of using it is to list all the grams for a meal on a day when you have plenty of time and save it as a saved meal with the heading Portion plate - then the details. You can then call the whole thing up if you want to use the portion plate for that meal again. I understand what you say about the Royal Doulton Phooka. That sounds much better than a nasty plastic plate. The thing is you only need to put things on the plate to measure them. After that, you can slide them onto any plate. Anyway, it might be a useful extra to doing FatSecret. As far as the target is concerned, yes it does seem to be travelling about a bit lately. I moved it again this morning. I have discovered a way to lose weight very quickly - just move the target up and everything looks so much better (: I think the 10 stone I marked up today is probably right. I had a look on Google and 140 lbs is right for a woman 5 foot 8 inches tall and of medium build. It says you have to add 10% for a small frame and subtract 10% for a small frame. Anyway, if I don't like my tum after that, I'll have to ask one of the nice hunky trainers at the Leisure Centre to help me out.

That make sense although the OH would go ballistic if I used more plates and pans than I do already since I cook and he washes up. Good luck with the trainer ... ahem ... I mean asking the trainer about tummy exercises :D
