Paleo Judy's Journal, 16 Dec 16

WK1/Rec5 I've now lost 2 lbs from when I started this mini-target system on 11th Dec i.e. over 5 daily records. To reach the target of weighing 138 lbs, I will need to lose another half a pound by record 7 on Sunday. Going to the gym would help, so I'll see what happens. I've noticed that the girl on the Nov/Dec issue of the Slimming World magazine is the same height as me (5 ft 8) and weighs 9 stone 7 lbs (133 lbs). To get to the same weight as her, I would need to lose another 5-1/2 lbs. Can't do anything about the face though (-:
62.8 kg Lost so far: 2.5 kg.    Still to go: 0.2 kg.    Diet followed: Reasonably Well.

Do you need to be the same weight as her though? We really need to stop comparing ourselves with other people as we are all different. You've had a really good week! Way to go, Judy 🎉👍🎉

That's an impressive loss. Congratulations. Bet the girl on the mag is younger than either of us. Nothing much we can do about years and genes unless we go the plastic surgery route!

Felt you were right about the girl on the Slimming World magazine, so I've settled for final goal of 9 stone 12 (138 lbs). Thought if I slimmed down until my tummy was perfect and flat, my arms and legs at that point would probably look like chopsticks. My face is of course perfect ... Who wants to look like the ugly cow on the magazine anyway? LOL (-:

LOL indeed, PJ! (Hope you don't mind me calling you that. I do lots of stuff in history and your name makes you sound Palaeolithic to me.)

How are you doing with your sleep problems, Judy? Any improvements? Any help from Docs? Some of us are at the age the tum won't disappear without loads of work that we haven't time for. I keep wondering if I'll get to my 70s and do like this lady - http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-18346128. Hell, why not?

Phooka, the things we'll be able to do when we don't have to work full-time!

Thanks for asking about the sleep problems Phooka. Unfortunately they are still really bad, though seem to be concentrated after the evening meal nowadays, so there has been some improvement in the daytime. It's very rare for me not to have somnolence in the evening, but I have noticed that I'm better when the evening meal is light and a division is made between tea and dinner. Five small meals is the recommended treatment for postprandial hypoglycaemia, but maybe all I need to do is just split the evening meal.

Well done on the loss 😊

Like anything, it will probably take some experimentation and adjustment to find the best for you, Judy. Hopefully it is something as simple as splitting your meals into smaller ones and snacks. Six meals a day didn't seem to do hobbits any harm although you're a bit tall for a hobbit (I won't ask about hairy feet 😜). Take care!
