Does Slimming World work?. Well maybe I'm going to have to say "yes". Tried one of their recipes yesterday (curry chicken tray bake) from the November edition of their magazine (see pg 55). Ate a whole plateful of this with a circle of wild rice on a standard 11 inch plate, and it was quite piled up. Not only this, but I also had a big portion of Slimming World style chips. I cut the chips from potatoes, boiled them for 5 minutes, then put on a little olive oil, salt and pepper and baked them in the oven. This was not a little plate of chips but a full one. I don't normally skip breakfast, but this morning I have felt mega- full. I've gone up until lunchtime and still feel really full, but the surprising thing is that I've just weighed myself and the weight has gone from 141.2 lbs to 139.7 lbs - so a 1.5 lb loss. I think the food optimizing works if you go with your loss of appetite the next day. It's probably the bulk of the large amount of protein, vegetable fibre and whole grain which kills your appetite. Anyway, a diet of curry and chips sounds the diet for me.

I can't eat fresh chilli in large amounts and I wanted the curry for a few people, so the only changes I have made are to do everything in first on the hob and then in the oven tray and to substitute paprika and a little cayenne pepper for the chilli. I've taken a photograph, so I'll try posting it up when I come back home later on today. By the way this is even more surprising because I finished the meal off with three Werther's Originals sweets. Don't know how many Syn points these would be, but it shows what Slimming World claim can be true. I really expected a big gain, not a loss. I've never been to a meeting of Slimming World, but I did start buying the magazine in October.
