Thanks. I am always ecstatic when the scale moves down. Now without delay, I should get moving.

I want to go mushroom picking....my grandparents used to take us all the time. I for one wouldn't have a clue which are or aren't poisonous :(

We ate the mushrooms, before we could take photos. The mushrooms we ate were called "matriske" http://www.wormnes.no/soppsiden/soppene/seks_sikre/matriske.htm and piggsopp http://www.wormnes.no/soppsiden/soppene/seks_sikre/piggsopp.htm. Both are unmistakable. We have a couple of chantrelles left.

Mushroom picking is becoming increasingly popular in the US, but it is still quintessentially European in my mind. My son goes out with his friends.

It is just recently become fashionable again here in Norway too. It is lovely to walk in the forest in the fall. It seems there is something new every turn. My mom (in Canada now) and my daughter are obsessed with plants and berries and mushrooms. Maybe your son will take you. Best to have someone knowledgable along. I made a mushu pork inspired stir-fry with our catch.
