hi, are you counting carbs?

No, I'm not counting carbs, but I don't eat any grain products. All my carbs come from fruit and vegetables, and occasionally from dairy.

I weighted the same as you, and found out about the Atkins diet...so I kind of started that diet which consist of less than 20 c carbs a day and after a week my body started to burn fat. Basically we have our body in a condition that is kind of like a diabetic person. like a pre-diabetic: our insulin levels dont permit the fat from being burned. by lowering that much the carbs on a daily basis, your kick-start the fat-burning process in your body...plus some walking and there you go...

to kickstart the fat burning you would also need to leave fruits out. all this is what I learned on the internet and it had worked t burn fat even though very few pounds I've lost but I do believe that will follow if I continue lowering carbs and less calories and exersizing

Hang in there. Maybe you could watch what you drink and increase excercise. Either way, don't give up. You can do this!

Your body is destroying complex fat , just keep it going and you will see the result very soon

Dr. Fung explained that low calorie diets fail because the body compensates by lowering the metabolic rate. I haven't read "The Obesity Code" yet, but read his blog and watch him on YouTube.

I mean that I read his blog and watch him on YouTube. That sentence wasn't clear.

What about the exercise? Do you do some activities?

Hi OalannO, I took a peak at your food log and if that is your total calorie input each day, you should for sure be losing weight and burning fat on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.... even without any extra activity or exercise. Your average daily input in July was 729 calories and in August it was only 595 calories per day. Even if you were quite small, your Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) would be likely greater than 1200 calories per day...So, meaning absolutely no offense, but just for clarity, are you logging all your food and beverage intake...the reason I ask is that the food log shows (at the bottom of each page) that your food logs are all classed as "this is some of what I ate" instead of "this is exactly what I ate". If you calculate your personal BMR, using your current weight, age and height, as long as calorie intake is less than your BMR by 500 calories (or more) you should start seeing steady weight loss...exercise is not required but will also help your weight loss progress. If you have any questions or want anything clarified then please feel free to PM me, post here or just check out any relevant online information. Good luck, take care and wishing you great success going forward!!

I do log everything I eat, the only things that I leave out occasionally would be plain tea because the calories are almost 0 and I don't drink that much of it. My daily exercise routine includes 40 min on the stationary bike, 20 minutes on the elliptical, and an hour long walk with my dog. Plus a lot of other walking because I don't drive and have to run all errands by bus/trolley. I just choose not to log my exercise.

Hmmm, @0alanna0, your metabolism rate might be dropping because of the low amount of calories you eat. I'm under a doctor's supervision for my weight loss for qualifying for surgery and they won't let me go under 1200 because they say my body will shut down and start to hold on to every ounce of fat because it thinks it's in starvation mode. I notice that when i eat the right amounts during the day i'm actually loosing weight. It's not a large loss, but 2 lbs a week so far. I don't know...are you under Dr. supervision with this program? if yes, then...ummm...i'm at a loss. (no pun intended) cause you're definitely getting your exercise in. Phew!

Try amping up your activity...

You are not eating enough. Your metabolism goes into energy conservation mode at that kind of calorie deficit and hoards fat. You need to eat more fat and keep the carbs down, then your body will turn on the fat burning. Try 1200 calories at 80% fat. That will kick the metabolism into action.
