MichelleNRGIZED's Journal, 19 Sep 15

I went up a half kg this week. I'm a bit puzzled since I've not eaten much this week. I was sick one day - like really sick! Oh, well! I'm not going to obsess over it. I'm just going to buckle down & work harder & exercise more. To be honest, aside from what I've been doing at work, I've not really been getting other exercise. Maybe I've been eating more than I realised. That's very easy to do. I'll just be more vigilant & exercise more & just work a lot more at it. I'm not brushing this off, but I'm also not going to be overly concerned unless it becomes a trend. I did gain last week & I gained this week, but unless there's a third week of a gain, I'm not going to view it as a trend. My doctor did say that he was concerned about my thyroid - maybe it's something about that? Well, whatever the reason, I'm not going to think too much about it - despite me babbling on in this status - & just make sure that I get in more exercise & eat well. Onwards & upwards! Or downwards when it comes to weight & clothing sizes. :D Today's the main day of the fair, & I'm looking forward to volunteering at the children's section. Yeah!! :D

Good luck and keep that positive attitude. If you're interested, you should give the low-carb a shot. 168g would be close to my 2 1/2 week total. You can still count calories, but try cutting carbs; weight loss will be fast and energy level will increase. Back in the day, when I used to be a runner (like circa 1980), I found that exercise is great for toning up, but only what we eat will impact our weight. Have a great day.

Thanks for the comment, grandbears. I'll think about that. I do have a lot of carbs in my diet because they're easy to prepare & don't cost much. I've had to watch my spending for a long time now & still do, but I know that there are ways to eat other things that don't cost much, like veggies & fruit, especially from my local produce store. It'd be hard for me since I love carbs so much, but I will seriously consider it. Thanks again!! All the best to you. I've been enjoying your journal entries. :)

Hi Michelle. It will help if you can log everything you eat, every single day. Then you'll soon see if you are eating more green you think. You have to be totally honest with yourself. Also if you've been ill, it's quite possible that there are water fluctuations going on, so it could be just that. Your thyroid activity level might have a long-term effect, but if your doctor hasn't put you on medication for it, it may not be very significant. My thyroid was low, I've been on thyroxin for a few years to correct it, I feel better on it, but I can still put on weight!

Not 'more green', I meant 'more than'. Stupid predictive text!
