I hope everybody is having a good start to your week.

I haven't been very active on here recently. I've been busy with work and am not setting a good example. My weight has been bouncing around but appears to be trending upward. This makes sense as I have not been exercising like I had been. I need to adjust my calorie intake down to compensate but my appetite hasn't gone away. It makes it a struggle to eat within my limit as I used my running as my buffer to burn any excess calories.

I have been diagnosed with a high hamstring tendinopathy on my right side. Basically it is a pain in the rear, literally. The ortho thinks it was caused by sitting for too long and aggravated by bone spurs on my ischial tuberosity (sit bone). I'm doing rehab now for the next 5 weeks when I go back to see the doctor. My first session in rehab was an assessment and they gave me stretching to do every day. It's 4 stretches to get better flexibility in my right hamstring. They said it can take anywhere from 6 to 12 weeks to heal. This means my planned Labor day 10K is probably not going to happen for me. Needless to say I am bummed. I have been going to gym and doing alternate cardio on the ladder and stairmaster. The bad part is doing 40+ minutes of cardio in the gym is, well, just plain boring. When I run the time goes by faster and I don't notice the exertion as much. I'm hoping I can get back to running soon but am not holding out hope at this point.

I just need to focus back on my diet and force myself to exercise. I don't want to lose my aerobic fitness while I'm not running. My next chance to work out will be Thursday so I'm going to shoot for an hour of cardio. We'll see how it goes.

Argh! I am so sorry about your hamstring muscle issue - I know I love being in my routine for exercise and miss it terribly when something stops me. Can you listen to music or books when you do cardio at the gym? I used to listen to books and it made the time pas quickly!
