Let's see, you have been lifting weights...so we will call this two days of "bulking", looks successful my friend!! 🤣 Mine was not as bad as expected, it was just one long winded meal so I had a 1.6 pound jump, then a fast, so now I'm looking at about half a pound. I'll take that!! Now to curb the sugar cravings which are back with a vengeance....thank goodness we have no sweets in the house right now. Even with the 24 hour fast it's not diminished much, but I knew it would happen and planned for the fight, the demon will subside in the next few days, as long as I don't feed it!

@Deb YOU DID GREAT!!! The homemade chicken n pastry, cranberry sauce, & homemade pineapple pudding did me in! 🤣 Gosh, that was the best pastry & pudding I've ever made...lol. Some guests didn't show up, so there was mounds of left overs! Still some, and I can't bring myself to throw it away...lol. My niece is supposed to be coming by around 3 (anytime now. *pats foot*). I've got it all packed up for her to take with her. It didn't bother me a bit packing it up, after seeing the gain...lol. I've fasted so far today. I may have some steak later on, Idk, but it will be a carnivore day at most...lol. I did make it to the gym yesterday evenin for a full body workout, but I don't have anyone to watch the visiting kids today & have LOTS of cleaning to do. I may get a chance to do a little at home a little later. We will see how it all goes.

I used my poor hubby for leftover disposal, we had to take plates with us when we left. So I did my fast and reheated the leftovers for him. bless his heart, he ate it all and was stuffed for a second day. I did not hear him complain any though. Leftovers and cleanup were the two main reason's I did not want to cook. I can't cook Thanksgiving for two people, minimum amounts I can cook can stuff 15 people. When Mom was alive, she insisted we cook, then we had 3 people trying to eat what would have fed 15. It's not really the size of each dish.....it's the total number of different dishes that we feel the need to make!

Debra this year it was just hubs and i and he made a humongous turkey and mashed potato’s gravy and corn and it we didnt even miss all the options that normally come with thanksgiving. I wonder what made thanksgiving the day that became this enormous feast instead of being thankful and enjoying family and friends. Im as guilty as anyone of this but it just ocurred to me that it is so very food centered.

YOH, all the eating Holidays are like that....once upon a time day to day eating was frugal, so when a special occasion came along and us humans gathered together in celebration, the breaking of bread and sharing it became central. As our prosperity increased, so did the menu.....

I actually recall the days when Grandmother's did not have or approve snacking. My Granny did not bake cookies, the only sugar in the house was in a bowl next to the coffee pot. She said, I don't give a damn what your Mama lets you do at home, we only eat at meals and if we don't get the chores done...there won't be a meal. We churned butter, shucked corn, shelled peas, canned the peas, weeded the garden, fed the cows, chickens and hogs. The cow was milked at 6 am and 6 pm every single day. We went into the woods and picked berries...mahaws, blackberries, dewberries. Granny made jelly, that was the only time you saw a bag of sugar on the table is when she made jelly. Jelly went on toast with the home smoked bacon and yard eggs. Every meal required work, either in the garden, or in the barn. Granny went to town once a month to get "necessities".....she did not buy food. PawPaw hunted, ran trotlines for catfish and butchered pigs, chickens and steer, we cut it, wrapped it and froze it. She made a single rum soaked fruitcake for each of her children's families at Christmas.

i have diet cheat day every saturday. average 6-7 pounds increase in one night. for those that do this, it takes 3-5 days for that cheat day weight to neutralize. it's not body fat. it's just water and food matter. it takes a lot more effort and hard work to gain that much fat. the important part is to say "ok, that was fun, but i'm not addicted. back on the plan...........now"

I didn’t eat 💩 foods, but definitely overindulged. Gained around 2.5 pounds. I needed a break and enjoyed every bite and time w/family. Back on track today though.

I didn’t overindulge but even so 3 heavy TG related meals in on week is toooooo much. So much wasted food.everything was delicious but I’m definitely good for another year.

Thanks, guys! 💜 I've been back on track since the night before this post, but haven't really worried about weighing in too much. I'll weigh in the morning.

@Deb Your husband is such a sweetheart...lol. ...and your granny sounds awesome! I think this might be my last year cooking, like that anyway. There have been constant cleaning chores since the cooking started for Thanksgiving, plus I had one of my grandbabies & my great nephew stay with me for the holiday break. I love them to pieces, but whewww...lol. I just dropped the grandbaby off a couple of hours ago, so back to my normal schedule tomorrow. Planning on upper body day stregth training, followed by Zumba.

@Storms Iktr! I did too, enjoyed every bit of it!

@Kenna Me too! I doubt there will be a Christmas feast. Nothing was wasted here, thankfully. I packed up the remainder of the leftovers for my niece, and I'm sure her and her family ate every bite. I have a REAL problem wasting food. I was raised that was the ultimate sin.

ZWP— I hear you about how we were raised, me too. We are adults now and can choose our own path. If a host pushes leftovers onto me that I don’t really want I make a stop at the dumpster before I even park the car. Just because it is there doesn’t mean I have to eat it.
