vanderbergjeanine's Journal, 21 Apr 23

so I have been on the group for years, fall off the ban wagon all the time. but today will be day 3 that I started again. I was curious to see if anything had happened in 2 days...I need to be motivated to giving up majority of my coffee in the day, yes I am addicted to coffee. normally have like 10 a day, 2 sugars at a time.....yes yes I know not good. Well I have cut that to 4 maybe 5 a day with 2 cups with 1 sugar, theres no sugar, low fat milk and then 2 litres of water a day. I have been eating whole foods, day 1 was fruit, day 2 vegetables (raw)....I will be honest I did have 4 toffees...was lus. This morning I wanted to see if there was any change......whoop whoop came down from 118.7kg to 117.1kg. prob water but this is enough motivation to just try keep going. today I will be eating fruit and veg. it is a challenge when I cook for my family but I just need to deal with that. I am doing this for ME and I deserve to invest this time into ME. Emotional ups and downs is the worst for me but we all have them need to just focus. Have a super day all, wishing you a great day!

You won’t be motivated all the time - that’s where discipline comes in. You do it despite how you may feel. Good luck love 💗

Reading this, I would have loved it if we stayed close enough to each other to work on it together. My husband and I just came home from a church camp and as people started sharing photos's I started crying, because I just don't like the me I am seeing...it doesn't really look like me...the real me is hidden inside of that blob and I would really like her to feel visible again. My husband said that he understands, but we are working on it...I know we are, but that doesn't take away the "today" or the fact that it is still a very long journey ahead. The long and the short of this "I feel sorry for myself" comment, is what I said in the first sentence.🤣

Dear Janine - any "diet" that leaves you hungry, hangry, sad, depressed and deprived will not work - trust me..I am 45 and have been "dieting" all my life. I have been on a Keto diet for 2 months - have almost lost 10kg in fat and I have never felt better and more determined in my life. I am happy, satisfied, NOT HUNGRY, NOT CRAVING (not even alchohol) and I have loads of energy. The Keto diet is perfect for us South Africans that like our meat and biltong :-) Look at Dr Sten Eckberg's videos on U-tube and you can follow all the advice of our own world renown scientist - Prof Tim Noakes. It is working wonders for me. We are all here for you.

We all need to find what works for us.Keto doesn't work for me at all.( I did better on a vegetarian diet) It literally makes me sick. None of the other modern diets that have rocked up in the last view years work for me. The only thing that has ever worked for me was to not eat a bunch of junk, watch my portions and start moving my but. Inspite of popular opinion, cardio works better for me than strength training. Things like hormones, health, age etc all play a part.
