Myself and my husband started it yesterday. I have done it before and found it really good. I also know people who have had great success with it too - just try and be healthy on your non fast days and exercise too and the weight will drop off! Good Luck :-)

I am new to this too, but finding it very helpful as i can share my progress with my trainer and he can see how i am progressing. It’s simple to use and generally gives you motivation to achieve our goals.

Don't diet unless you want to diet for the rest of your life. I would recommend being more active for 5 days and rest for 2 and generally cut out any regular high calorie snacks and reduce the amount of carbohydrates on your plate for every meal until you've lost the weight you want to. It's as simple as that!

LEDZ90, I see what you are saying and that is exactly where you end up, once you start the 5:2 regime. The rest of your life you end up monitoring what you eat but not limiting like a diet. You end up cutting out unsuitable snacks etc. This is a must in order to manage your health the older you get. So, even though I continue to follow a 5:2 regime it is not as strict as when I first started. It is now just a habit where I end up being conscious of what I eat virtually every weekday but being a bit more relaxed on a weekend or when going out in evenings any day of the week. On another note, I have tried to stop eating late in the evenings. so usually by 6pm I have eaten. Again this is flexible when I go out for a meal or on weekends etc. Flexibility is key. Good luck Juliec8844.

I'm loving the 5:2 diet. Im not constantly thinking about food, and on my non fast days I can eat what I like but find myself making good choices anyway. And if I do spoil myself, I don't beat myself up about it, I just enjoy it and look forward to the next fast day.

Im on the 5:2 …really good…Its not just a diet, but the rest of the proven health benefits of fasting are such a must….Have you actually read the Micheal Mosley book ? … very interesting, as was the horizon programme about it ….Good luck

I started the 5:2 last week after watching the horizon programme as I am definitely a constant craver. Today after my first week I have lost 4lb and am really pleased as overall I have not felt as hungry this week. On the non restrictive days I am eating healthily but having food I really like and it seems to be working for me. So good luck Julie
