130.6 lbs.! Felt lighter this morning, so even though I have been trying to limit myself to once a week, I took another ride on the scale. Looks like the plateau is over.😀

I did OMAD yesterday (One Meal a Day, for you Newbies). A TRUE OMAD, meaning 1 meal, NOT a gigantic meal for 3 people, nor 1 meal plus 1,000 kcal worth of snacks. I had 2 cups of edamame seasoned with soy sauce and rice vinegar, a plain baked sweet potato with the skin, and a handful of cherry tomatoes. Water. About 550 kcal. It obviously worked, though 8 hours later I went to bed hungry; it took me an hour to fall asleep with my stomach growling.

An effective way to push off the plateau, but not one I'll be employing again anytime soon.

Happy Sunday, Everyone! May your day be filled with fun exercise and single portions of your favorite healthy food; let's remember why we're losing weight in the first place!👁️🏆

Congratulations. I do a lot of different things to beat plateaus. I think you just have to keep your body off balance at times. I’m glad OMAD worked for you.

@Russell: I've never done OMAD intentionally, though there's been many times in life that I was simply too busy to get around to eating. I ate my meal at lunchtime so that I would have the opportunity to burn off the calories. Which I did, but at the price of an easy sleep. What are your plateau busters?

Congratulations!!! Way to get past the plateau! 💯💯💯 Love edamame! One of my favorites. I am trying to get back to 130 and that last two pounds for me has been challenging. I backed off my carbs a little last week.

@Redporch: Thanks! Edamame is seriously like magic beans. I'm Vegan, so carbs are the bulk of my diet, but legumes are protein, fiber and carbs all rolled into one; they are a mainstay of my menu. I've been losing steadily since Thanksgiving, so a plateau was inevitable. At least you're already at a super healthy weight for your height -- sounds like you're just trying to get back to that sweet spot 💚

Congrats. I am back on OMAD for the post-holiday recovery myself.

Mostly I cycle my calorie count. On a normal basis I cycle between high, low and fasting. Hitting a plateau I will eat high for a week and exercise hard enough to not gain for the week. The the following week i will fast a couple of days. Mostly just keeping my body from getting comfortable. Not sure there is any science behind my approach but it seems to work.

@Draglist: I took a peak at your version of OMAD -- you drink your calories🍷🍸🥛, which on top of a giant meal, increases your calorie count to 2,000 kcal/day. I would blow up to 200 lbs. on that. I think the strategy of OMAD is to reduce the calories eaten to just 1 normal meal, otherwise CICO holds as true as gravity. 🧑🏻‍⚕️

@Russell: Cycling your calories obviously works for you, judging from the consistently dropped pounds you log every week. I don't mind extra excercise, but I do not do well with fasting (a true fast -- meaning zero calories). I get lightheaded toward the end of the day. Ghandi amazed me.

If I am hungry when I go to bed, I drink a glass of water.

OK, fairer to say I reduce my eating window. Cheers.

omad is the only i can successfully diet. 🙌

@Kaylinrenee: 💚Looking at your food diary, yours is the closest I've seen to a true OMAD: Calories are low with eating just 1 thin-person sized meal, and you weigh around 115 lbs. -- which is what I'm aiming for. For me, this was simply to bump me off my plateau, but I could never sustain <650 kcals/day (for reasons of hunger but also getting enough nutrients for my 5'5" body). I'll put OMAD in my toolbox for plateaus, though.

Great job. Keep moving forward!

@Manatee: It's getting really hard to shed these last 15 pounds. I lost 4 in December, But only 2.2 this month so far. Pushing hard to lose another pound this week and finish January in the 120's. Workout planned for 4:30 a.m. (not quite your O'dark 30, but still cold & dark!)

0 dark thirty for me is anything before 5:30, you rock! Keep tearing it up!
