ceehan's Journal, 27 Oct 22

I’ve made sure I’ve eaten plenty of protein and loads of fruit and veg while I’ve had covid this week, mostly because I know a few people who’ve either been really ill or have long lasting debilitating effects on mood and energy etc so it seemed like one of the things that might help to avoid that. So I’m not starving to lose weight while I’m waiting for this to pass, the lurgy has been annoying but entirely manageable and another pound is gone.

I’ve managed to duck it until now which is remarkable given I work in a school and I’ve been around plenty of people who have had it. I’m already well on the way to OK after just a couple of days which seems to be good going as a 60 something, very grateful as I know it can have a massive impact for some of us.

I hardly ever get ill… I felt bleurgh on Monday evening with a day glo pink positive test, obviously can’t go to school today but I’m almost back to normal with just a whisper of pink line. Despite my various vices I eat shed loads of fruit, veg and salads and I’ve had my jabs, so maybe it’s that and some good luck🤔

Ceehan, u r very lucky, I know that cuz I'm the same, never poorly, eat well, don't drink much alcohol, take regular excersise. I've been that way all my life, never had an op or broken a bone. I consider myself truly blessed when I c what some ppl go through xx

Addison, didn’t think to mention I don’t drink alcohol… I wondered if I could just stop so I did, it’s a decision that just felt right for me. Wine smells like yeasty vinegar now so make mine a soda and lime 😄

I drink Ceehan, but very little, a bottle of wine usually lasts me 2 weeks 😄 xx

There’s a big difference between choosing to have an occasional glass and being able to put it back in the fridge and the wine o’clock reliant culture that’s so prevalent and normalises hangovers. I admire your self control, for me it took up too much headspace thinking about what’s too much or too often, or even wow, haven’t had any for however long. Makes me sound like I had a problem lol, but it just wasn’t working for me… absolutely no issues if other people drink, I’m not out to spoil their fun🙂
