Snowwhite100's Journal, 21 Jan 22

Last night I took out the side seams I had sewn in (to be tighter/smaller) on a pair of black sweat pants my SIL gave me years ago. She wore about a 12, but most things I cut off the excess as I took them in. I'm sure glad to find a few things that I hadn't cut off. It's given me enough to get by temporally before I lose some of this weight I gained in the last 7 months. I went from about a size 6 to a 12 in that short time. I also bought 4 thick black leggings that were fuzzy on the inside like fleece, over the course of the last two months. I was surprised I could buy extra heavy warm leggings for $7.99 when even the thinner ones are 5.99 to 7.99 at the thrift stores around here. These fit tight like leggings not baggy like sweats, so I will be able to wear them after I lose weight. I only wear long tops with leggings to be modest.

Very resourceful of you, and thrifty. At least you didn't GIVE AWAY all of your larger clothes, like I did. I had to buy two dressy pants outfits (for church, funerals, and such), 3 pairs of pants (because all I had that fit were capris, just below the knee), and two pairs of pajamas. I'm not miserable in my clothes now, but they are starting to get a little snug. The "good thing" about being obese (like my current size 2X) is that one size fits about a 20-50 pound range. When you're in the smaller sizes, like you are, a few pounds can put you from one size to another very quickly. Glad you were able to get the good deal on leggings! Keep warm (though that's not much of a problem where you live) -- it was 19 degrees here this morning.

I have taken in and let out pants many times in my yo-yo weight history, often wearing pants that were too tight or too baggy along the way. This year I went looking for pants that would fit in my many bins and didn't find any, so I bought some and I've lost a lot of weight this year (40 lbs.) So now I have nearly new pants that are almost too big. I shouldn't save them, because I want to get smaller. I don't want it to be too easy to grow back into them. Still, you've got to have something to wear as you change sizes.
