Snowwhite100's Journal, 08 Jan 22

The freezer part of my refrigerator went out twice over the holidays. The first time I lost 95% of all the food I had. Even though it is old I went ahead and paid to have it repaired because the new ones coming from China aren't even as good as the old ones, and a new one to not block the entrance to my small kitchen is very expensive. Now the dryer is "out" on my up and down 1 piece stackable. I like a top load, and only have room for stackables which are only made by a couple of companies. Most of the new ones have the controls way up at the top and I am only 5' tall with a bad back. Reading the reviews, many people are having trouble with the few new ones that are like what I have. The repairman didn't call back so my husband tore into it and we are ordering 3 parts. If that isn't enough we will order more. It makes me appreciate even more the modern conveniences we have.

My sister and I always say it's not a holiday until an important appliance breaks. So sorry for your troubles...and expenses. ❣

It always seems like everything goes at once. Within a 4-6 week period, we lost our upright freezer, dishwasher and refrigerator. The only thing we replaced was the refrigerator. We're managing without the extra freezer space, though it was a challenge with my pre-Christmas baking/freezing. I still may get a dishwasher - especially if my friend Maryann, from California, comes out to visit me, because she's funny about hand-washed dishes.

Lost my microwave during Christmas last year. Had a terrible time locating one that would fit in the space above the stove. Hope the parts you've ordered fix the problem.

Amen to that for some strange reason companies don't make things to last a long time anymore oh I remember now!!! they are out to make money.

Hi Snowwhite. I don't know why, but even though I'm following you, I have not been seeing your posts. I'm glad to hear your husband is reacting well to his treatment. And it appears you had a nice Christmas with your daughter. Sorry to hear you've been struggling with your weight, these are such stressful times and I am definitely a stress-related eater. Here's hoping for a better year in 2022. Nice to hear you're getting back on track, I'm trying to do so too. 🎀
