Snowwhite100's Journal, 25 May 21

Sat on a bucket and trimmed 11 small rose bushes that run along the sidewalk that goes around the front and part of the side of our house. We are on a corner. Some people have a split rail or picket fence for their roses. I only have the roses, no fence. But being spring the flowers are so pretty and cheerful. I pushed myself too much, because even though the bushes are small, I still have to lean forward to trim the dead roses, and that just tears up my back. I think I am expecting too much of myself because it has been less than a week that I haven't used the walker to take a walk. Then I held onto my husband's arm. Yesterday I walked (before trimming roses) about 3 short blocks and back by myself.

I so want to go to our cabin in the mountains to turn on the water for the small planter and one tree it feeds, but the 2 1/2 hour drive (if no Los Angeles traffic)sounds like too much. And I may have to do the driving since my husband is dizzy most of the time. I drove to 3 doctor appointments for him a week ago even when it was tough.

Glad to hear you are making progress with your back situation. Yes, please don't overdo it! You don't want to end up confined to that bed again. How has your weight fared through all of this? From your weight chart, it looks like you've lost a lot this year. I know you're just coming off a time when you were dependent on your husband to prepare your meals and bring them to you in bed. Praying you reach your goal by your deadline date - is that late June or early July?

Debbie, July 9th is my challenge deadline but I only need to go to 114.5, so I don't see it as a problem. Thanks for your support. I didn't trim any roses today, maybe just a couple tomorrow.

Glad you are feeling better. Take care! Maybe you can go to your cabin soon.
