Yay!!! A loss 2 days in a row! Attitude adjustment is working (panic over full fledged physical in only 11 days).

I changed up my diet for the last month or so, which seems to have steadily (i.e. slowly) killed off the pounds. It's basically fresh fruit and various roasted/salted nuts 2x/day, with one meal as a garden salad, rice & beans or homemade soup.

I learned over the holidays that I simply will blow up if I consume bread or sweets.

Past experience also taught me that eating meat (any animal) on a regular basis, like doing the Atkins Diet, sends my cholesterol levels through the roof, and wasn't sustainable for me at all beyond a month. (Too much food excluded, and it was boring without sauces and fruit.)

And my life is more gastronomically comfortable if I avoid dairy of any kind. (When did this happen??? Jeeesh. Age affects everything.)

Rewards are the BEST!!! And yes, through trial & error, I have discovered that I am not 23 anymore. Which means (adding to the list) that I cannot lose weight if I consume alcohol, either. Wine and spirits for me are maintenance foods. On a diet, the scale stalls.

Thanks, Kattay. My WOE changes every couple of months to keep the body guessing and prevent plateaus, but there have been some definites that stay in the NO Category. Some of it will come back during maintenance, but sparingly.
