Water weight.., but lets see if I can get rid of 2 more kgs in my new week 1, or at least get to 127kg or under.
128.8 kg Lost so far: 2 kg.    Still to go: 8.4 kg.    Diet followed: Reasonably Well.
Losing 5.6 kg a Week

I have heard of water weight but not sure what it is?

When you eat carbohydrates they retain water in the body. As I've started eating Keto (Mainly protein and fats) the body loses the water as you have no carbohydrates in the body. So whilst this week I'm hoping to lose lets say 5lbs, I know approx 4lbs will be water weight and 1lb will be actual fat. This is why you hear of people with big weight losses in the first week, but then they slow down. Initially its just the water weight..

Wow ok. My brother has been keto for a couple of years but I've not heard it put that way...thanks for helping me to understand!

Selina.. Just be aware its like a one off thing at the start... I often see posts stating.. oh look at me Ive lost 7/8/9/10/11 etc lbs. They get really excited about it.. but they dont understand its just water.. very little fat... Looks like ill lose 7lbs this week.. yep great scales are 7lbs less however just 1lb or 1.5lbs of that will be fat...

Right ok...so say I'm drinking at least 2 litres a day, will I still be losing fat...or do I need to burn fat? 😊
