Yesterday I took a chance by going out to lunch with my husband . He was dying for steak so we headed to Texas Roadhouse. I took a look at the menu online first & was shocked to learn just how much bad fat was in our favorite steak, the ribeye. I pivoted to a nice sirloin , ate only half if it, enjoyed my salad and 1/4 of my sweet potato and even splurged on 1 roll...and was prepared to pay for it on the scale today BUT no, still lost even though only a tiny 2/10 of a pound but a loss is a loss. Lesson Learned: Smarter choices can allow for a little splurge so long as expectations are managed and you stuck to the overall plan. (I have to admit I missed the tasty ribeye but maybe when I’m further down the road in this journey I’ll try some and see how my body reacts.).

I personally think you totally understand the concept of balance and you’re doing a fantastic job. And if it’s ribeye you love do the same thing with the ribeye split it in half.🥰🥰🥰

Wow, on keto the ribeye is a good to eat meat and so far i have lost 130 pounds eating fatty meats and bacon ect. just low on carbs and no grains or bad fats like soy or canola or corn or sunflower. just avocado coconut olive oil and butter and Ghee. It works and you can even have the sweet potato once in a while like you did and about that size too. good luck to you on your journey.

No wheat for me - wow that’s impressive. Glad you found something that works for you!!! I’ve debated trying Keri in earnest but honestly concerned for the long term effect of all of the fat considering some history of heart attacks in my family. So, now I’m trying to find the fine line between more lean protein and less carbs and fat and yet have some balance because I don’t want to set myself up to fail later or gain it back...same struggle we all face I suppose.
