Okay, I've been in denial. Even when you're getting plenty of exercise, and the scale doesn't seem to be going up significantly, you just can't get away with two servings of ice cream in various forms per day, plus 3 glasses of wine or other spirit, on top of a "sensible" diet. And with my recent out-of-town trip, I didn't get all the weight lifting sessions I need. I don't need the wine or ice cream. My body doesn't need it. I feel stronger, more energetic, more focused, sleep better when I don't have either of them. I can do this for me. This evening I sat on our back deck with my husband, who was drinking wine. I sat there with him and enjoyed the breeze, the view, the companionship, and did not miss the wine. I can enjoy life and not drink and eat in an unhealthy way.
57.5 kg Lost so far: 5.5 kg.    Still to go: 1.7 kg.    Diet followed: Poorly.
