Day 5 of a planned 11 days of mostly ‘no solid food’ fasting

So my ‘theory’ is, that for me, it is the length of time with low carbs that causes the weight loss, not the calorie deficit. I lose weight fast when water fasting, but, this current test is to see if I lose weight about as fast, yet taking in about 1,000 calories a day.

It is a *lot* easier ‘mentally’ to consume 1,000 calories a day. ‘Pure water fasting’ can be ‘challenging’ because, while you are not hungry (for me there is no hunger past day 2+), you just-want-to-chew-on-something.

With my mostly ‘no solid food’ fasting I allow myself to chew on pickles. These things have like no carbs and practically no calories. Have all the pickles you want. Even I can manage only about 2 a day.

Today I plan to do an 11 mile run. I usually drop 4-6 pounds. However, I *always* eat afterwards. This time it will be just-a-protein-shake then off to bed. Let’s see if I can hold onto the expected loss.

However, rain is planned today, so I may have to wait to run tomorrow...

@liv001 - I base part of my theory looking at your results. You are consistent without massive carb binges every weekend. I know most would say it is your constant calories deficit, but, when I factor in my carb binges, I still end up with sizable calorie deficits over the week. What I *don't* end up with, is 'extended low carbs'... Is there a such thing as a'carb deficit'? I don't know...

@Chesgreen - I got 7 miles and a 3 pound loss over the pound this morning, but, had I done the intended 11 miles I would probably have a 4-5 pound loss. The thing that has me excited is to see how much of that loss is still there tomorrow morning. I have never run, had a big drop like this, and *not* 'carb up' later that night :)
