Day 3 of a planned 5 days of ‘no solid food’ fasting

I did good yesterday…

Carbs: 16 Protein: 68 Calories: 1065

I even got a 🏃🏾‍♂️ 3 mile run in and 👟 walked 16k steps.

People ask how I can do this 5 days a week. Well, taking in over 1k in calories a day makes it really-not-that-hard-to-do 😁.

The reason the weight loss is so much, even on 1k of calories, is that my body will lose a lot of water weight when my glycogen is reduced through exercise, but, not replaced by dietary intake of glucose sources like carbs and protein

"Excess protein" (for me over 60 grams a day) is a source of glucose by my liver [https://dlife.com/high-protein-diet-and-diabetes-benefits-and-side-effects/].

My body consumes macros. When my macros are in line (less than 20 carbs and less than 70 grams of protein) weight loss will occur because my body must burn fat stores to maintain sufficient glucose and glycogen levels if I don’t consume enough in my diet.

The challenge is “What can I do long term”?

Well, I have been at this for over a year now…

😎 Life is Good! Have a great day everyone!

Great drop. I did a juice diet for a while. I had a juicer and used fresh fruits and veggies, so very healthy, but not sustainable for me. I think something like you're doing sounds more sustainable. Glad you have found something that works for you. I think others sometimes read your heading and think you are fasting for five days.

Fasting as in water only...

@shiny50 - Not eating solid food does take 'mental effort' so I am calling it a 'fast' using the definition of "willing abstinence or reduction from some or all food, drink, or both" :)

Finding your own way is the only way. Your body, your rules.

This is really neat! How did you determine exactly how your body processes macros? As in, how'd you determine that 60 g of protein was your max, etc.?
