jersey_di1's Journal, 30 Mar 19

Not much movement on the scales but I have lost inches all over my body so I'm happy despite small weight loss.
I stuck to around 1800kcal and went to gym 3 times this week, which included two spin classes and weight training and some cross trainer work. I can see my body is leaner and more taught so I know I'm losing fat. I hope that once my body get over the shock of working muscles it didn't know it had the weight will start moving too. Every muscle in my body aches badly so I presume there is some water retention there whilst they repair themselves and I'm trying not to obsess with scale reading.
I am definitely stronger and feel healthier which is my main concern. I will carry on this week the same and see what happens 😊
Have a great weekend guys and successful week ahead!

AWESOME. Muscle is a lot heaver than fat and if you have just started working out your body will build muscle easier than it will ever do so again. More muscle will increase your BRM, so you will burn more Kcal maintaining body weight. I would suggest first you take a photo of yourself in your undies (body changes can be slow and you miss changes when you see yourself in the mirror every day but comparing photos taken 12 weeks apart you will clearly see the change. Second give it more than a week before you access things, give it a month at least and lastly leave your calories the same for that month, its hard to gain muscle in calorie deficit but not impossible, its hard to gain fat in a deficit but is possible In a month your calories will be at about maintenance and you know that the changes you see are in body composition.
