Weight is bebopping back down. I know I have some swelling. Everyday has been something and LONG. Yesterday, I met my bestie after work, we tried on bras and I replaced two. We talked about menopause and all the hurdles. We discussed her husbands upcoming surgery and fears. Chatted over coffee; looked at make-up. It really was a much needed time. I was sore but didn’t mind; I know it will happen. We met the husbands for dinner. Calling this (her husbands) last hoorah meal before surgery. We knew he’d want pasta. I had chicken Alfredo fettuccine, BUT had them replace the fettuccine with roasted vegetables. It did have dairy (which I’ve been avoiding), but with the scale moving downward it shows me that dairy within reason does not stall me.

Anyway, after dinner we had just enough time to get back home for the town meeting. That was 8pm when over. I was just getting ready to go upstairs (nearly 9pm) to get ready for bed when our pagers go off for an EMS call. Needless to say it was after 10 when we got to bed and yes I certainly had swelly belly after that long 17+ hour day.

I’m not really complaining as I think I’m rebounding better now from the swelly belly. This week will be the test though since it is something EVERYDAY.

Menopause- I know I’ve said it before but truly the more stressful my day the more brain fog.

I have my 6 week post op today and I’m eager to talk to my doctor and discuss the supplements I’m taking and anything else I can add (like D3 or B12 shot).

If it ever comes to your area, or even close, I suggest going to see 'Menopause, The Musical'. It's hilarious and reminds us to take it easy on ourselves during this 'time of our lives'.

Bella I would love to see that! Will definitely keep my eyes peeled for it. I know coming back after my Mama passed had such a huge impact on me. I have to say that as much as I loved listening to my music and dancing it seemed that was gone. I tried to get it back, but couldn't and that just made me more sad. I have found myself in my car driving and wishing I could get that feeling back...needing it back. The simple joy that it brought to me. Last night was the first time I felt that in over 5 months....almost half a year. I don't credit it to just the meds. I know obviously I had health issues that I didn't know about that was having impact on my life. I had a surgery about two months prior to losing my Mama. Then the grief and loss. Then this surgery and menopause. I am starting a whole new journal entry here, but the journaling has helped me I know. The getting back in control of the things that I can control and ultimately taking better care of myself. Anyway, driving home last night I had a glimmer of that feeling. Of actually singing with the radio with real joy and happiness and a sense of it's going to be okay...that I am going to be okay. That is such a wonderful feeling.
