1982nodak's Journal, 23 Jan 19

Well, I'm glad I saved calories for book club last night. The person in charge of snacks brought a veggie tray, chips, salsa, & a cheese tray. The cheese and veggies are both Keto friendly and so I was able to have a snack and stick within my calorie limit.

My favorite meal (I will make again and take a picture) was the smoked salmon salad. A bowl of spinach, 3oz of smoked salmon chunks, 1/2 avocado, and I mixed the juice of 1/2 lemon with 2TBSP oil oil and used that for the dressing. It was incredibly satisfying. Yum.

And yet I'm down .6 pounds from yesterday and I'm completely satisfied. If I'm truly going to make this a lifestyle change then I have to enjoy the food and yesterday I did. I stayed under 1350 calories. I kept my sugars/carbs low and my fats and proteins up. I wasn't hungry. Plus I like meals to look pretty and the borscht is bright pink and colorful, and the salad was gorgeous. Maybe next time instead of adding lemon to the olive oil I might add chunks of lemon so I get the fiber from that...maybe I can't handle to much sour.
