Day 5 of a planned 5 day Fat Bomb Week
Blood sugar 79 mg/dL

👍🏾 Did I keep my net carbs below 10? Yes! (10 exactly)
👍🏾 Is my morning blood sugar in the 70s? Yes!

So at the end of my 💣 fat bomb week I see that I was unable to stick to the plan even one day!

What I learned:

🌟 I really like 💣 fat bombs during the day, but I get hungry later...
🌟 You know what tastes better than 💣 fat bombs? 💣 Fat bombs AND 🥛 protein shakes!

Yesterday was a 🏋🏾 lifting weights day. I barely made it though my sets. This is a good thing because it shows me that I had truly depleted most of my glycogen by Thursday. This morning I plan to do a run before work. This may help me drop a pound tomorrow morning even though I plan to eat tonight.

Next week I am back to the 'no solid food' fast.

I wake up Saturday morning at 3:00am to 🚗 drive to Las Vegas, speak at a conference, and then drive back. 9 hours in the car! My eating plan is to eat 'low carb'. I plan to eat beef sticks and cheese. I have to be careful with beef jerky because it can have a LOT of sugar(carbs). It also has high sodium and I KNOW I will gain 1-2 pounds in water weight...

The big jack links reg and pepper only have 3 carbs.. The big flat sticks. That is about the lowest I've found. Other flavors have 7-14.

adef, if I would have thought ahead I could have brought you some beef jerky that we get at Diaz Farms. It's homemade and delicious! Nothing artificial. We're stopping on our way at The Waffle House. Not low carb at all. 😨 Plan on dancing the carbs away at reunion. I hope. 💃

I read about people who are doing lifting and marathons successfully in ketosis yet many on here find that doesn't work, they need extra carbs. Not criticizing, I just wonder what makes the difference?

@trackin64 - Carbs help with lifting and I need carbs to increase my lifts. However, constant consumption of carbs will make me fat :) So I only try to carb up only a few days a month. While carbs do help with running, they are just not 'required' so I would never carb-up to run.

Nice blood sugar this morning! Glad you found out some info on the fat bombs and how you do with them - you do know you are addicted to protein shakes...lol That trip sounds like it will be a definite whirlwind - good luck with the car snacks! Have a great weekend!

@chrisw77 - Too many disasters with nuts from even last week. When I start eating them I go 600-800 calories in a single sitting! Next suggestion please :)

snack idea's, simple pepperoni and cheese, celery sticks with cream cheese in them. and naturally you are going to have a thermos with your protein mix and cream.

Awe man! I just checked to see what I ate on my road trip to NC to give you suggestions and I didn’t log my food that day!!!! I know I ate bbq flavored pork rinds and bridgeford brand sausage sticks but I don’t remember what else 😪

@Baskington - Thanks. I am going to try the simple pepperoni and cheese, celery sticks, but I'm gonna add peanut butter to them (and that 'may' make Chrisw77 happy...)

Ha I got made fun of in school for eating pepperoni and hard boiled eggs... Delicious snack in my opinion... Or wrap lunchmeat around a hb egg... I've done it all 😁

peanut does tend to have sugar though. be careful that is why I did not suggest it. I know you and cravings
