Day 9 of a planned 11 day 'no solid food fast'

Blood sugar 83 mg/dL

Still no weight loss, But, no weight gain 😊

🌟 Seriously, I am finally making my stomach disappear. Each morning I wake up, look in the mirror, and then suck my stomach in (to see what it will look like when I finally make it go away). This morning, when I suck it in, it barely changes AND it actually 'goes inward' (in an unnatural way). A trick I haven't been able to do since I was a child.

So, I am ignoring the scale. I am just concentrating on completing my 11 day fast, 🥛 drinking only protein shakes, 🏃🏾 running every other day, and 🏋🏾 weight lifting 3 days a week.

💪🏾 Went to the gym yesterday and completed all my lifts. However, when I tried to increase them it was an 'no go' :) I need carbs to increase my lifts. But, no extra carbs until I complete this 'cut' to 160lbs.

Since we will be in New York this weekend (and I will be off the fast and gaining weight), I decided that I will get back on the fast when we return and stay on it until I hit my goal weight of 160lbs. That may take another 11 days...

Have a great day everyone!

Have fun with your wife, enjoy your birthday weekend! 😀

@Keilin_4 - I will! I just hope I can get down to 165lbs and stay below 170lbs when we get back. It COULD happen because I have had 4 pounds of 'water weight' flush away in one day last week.

And yes the belly fat is the priority

@baskington - Thanks! I am so glad I decided to do this 11 day fast. Yes, I was hoping for more loss on the scale, but, the biggest benefit has been: *It has kept me on the diet for the past 9 days! * To go this long without 'binging' or 'cheating' has been the greatest benefit.

@Keilin_4 - 'The Birthday Will Be Celebrated' :) :) … And this 'belly fat' will be 'removed' one day or another :)

Have you thought about maybe doing clear liquids when you are fasting? I've done that before and it wasn't hard. I couldn't have milk or orange juice, but I believe cranberry juice was okay, coffee and tea with sweetener, apple juice, broth and even jello along with lots of water. And I think wine was okay, but probably not a good choice on an empty stomach. I remember doing this for a couple days before a medical procedure years ago.

Great job - the stomach is always the hardest thing to deal with!

@Fritzy 22 - I have done tea and bone broth only when fasting in the past. However, I normal fast Monday-Friday 3 weeks a month. 'Mentally' I can't have such a restricted diet for 15 days out of the month :) So, 900+ calories of Protein with Heavy Cream is low in carbs (my primary goal) and VERY 'filling'. This allows me to go on an 'extended fast' without feeling 'deprived'. For example a co worker was like 'Man I don't know how you can fast so much'. I asked him what he had so far today, he had eaten a pack of 130 calorie peanut butter crackers. I told him that my 340 calorie protein coffee this morning means I am already at twice the calories he is at!

Belly shrinking! Awesome! I think that is the hardest place to lose. You guys have fun on the East coast! Hopefully this hurricane doesn’t screw things up for you. Eat some Chinese food from china town for me!!

have you seen Jason Wittrock on YouTube? he's a keto body builder and he's got other keto body builder friends. I find it interesting.

@CrashtestDawnie - Thanks! @PrincessValerie has her mind set on "New York Pizza" so we will see if we can squeeze the Chinese food in :) Keep in mind we are from Los Angeles so we can easily get Chinese food :)

@jenjabba - Yes I saw the Keto workout YouTube stuff. I CAN lift on Keto, but I just don't have the power I do when I 'carb up'. I want to 'lift heavy'. So far, when I 'carb up' I can increase my weight each session.
