9th hour of a 20 hour fast

So far it looks like this OMAD (One Meal A Day) is working for me. Yesterday, I declared my 'eating window' to be from 6:00pm-8:00pm. This was easy to do as I am used to fasting Monday through Friday. During the day, I drank "Quest Vanilla Milkshake Protein Powder" with Splenda in hot water all day long. This is very filling, and only has 3 carbs for the entire day.

Today is a 'weight lifting day'. My experiment today will be to 'carb up', lift weights, and then go to bed. The reason I hope this wont cause an 'out of control carb eating binge' is that I plan to stay inside an 'eating window' of 5:00pm-8:00pm.

The reason I am even trying this is because my main goal right now is body building. To do this I need to gain weight. So, I am trying to eat carbs on my weight lifting days.

When I get up to 180 I plan to go back to my 5 days fasting schedule and 'cut' back down to 170. This is the weight I feel 'healthy' at. Right now I feel I look 'underweight' and have a 'skinny body' like 'little boy'. This is NOT a good look on a 49 year old man :)

Nice work. I like the approach. Keto lifting does not work for me. Are you pre-planning / pre-logging your pre-workout carbs? For me this helped with control.

@jimmiepop - Yep, I put a "Jack in the Box Ultimate Cheeseburger" in for dinner tonight (819 calories and 44 carbs! 57 planned carbs for the day). I know for the real weight lifters this is still considered 'low carb'. But... A) I need to see if this doesn't make me go 'out of control binging' and get fat and gain all the weight back B) Perhaps when I am benching 200+ I can 'justify' the 'extra carbs needed' :)

@ Jimmiepop - curious - i'm meeting with a trainer tomorrow at the gymn. What is meant by KETO lifting, and why doesn't it work for you? I've not done any lifting yet - hoping to get started (light weights - LOL!) I have never enjoyed going to the gym - found i can go and do treadmill or recumbent bike while fasting - want to add some lifting.
