The start of another fasting day. I am going to give the two day fast a second attempt, to see whether last week’s dizzy spell was fast related or not. I didn’t start the fast as 6pm last night. I kind of cheated by having an apple and two satsumas at 10pm, just before going off to bed.
I am currently reading "The Complete Guide to Fasting: Heal Your Body through Intermittent, Alternate-Day, and Extended", by Jason Fung and Jimmy Moore. Well, you have to have something to do at mealtimes!
I am finding I eat more than I feel is proper on my non-fasting days, but at least I try and eat sensibly. Yesterday I had porridge followed by a pear (Fibre) for breakfast, beans, ham and toast followed by an apple, for lunch, then a Venison stew and mashed potatoes, followed by yogurt, cashews, almonds and blueberries, followed by another pear for dinner. Not too terrible a choice (except the potatoes), but quite a lot to eat.
This morning I had my multi-vitamin, and later I will take a sachet of Laxido and a rehydration tablet, so I think that lot should cover most bases!!

Good luck, Jocko. Are you eating more on your non-fasting days because your body is telling you to? If you eat a lot of calories, carbs and fats on your non-fasting days, is that a problem for your body to cope with? Sudden blood sugar spikes or hard work for the liver? I don't know how fasting works in that respect.

Lovely meal choices if you ask me. 😁

Fats have little effect on Insulin levels, and the carbs I eat now are considerably less than when I started out on my low fat, high carb diet (as recommended by the NHS and AHA) two years ago.

I love venison stew - I'm so jealous and want some NOW! Experimentation is a key thing to finding what's right for ourselves since we're all different. Best of luck!

Yes, the NHS and AHA advice was bonkers! Takes a long time to turn these kinds of things around. Hope you have a good couple of days.
